Heinrich Walter Paul Tetsch ( 1907 - 1997 )

In 1945, Ludwig Christian August Tetsch came back from the war and found only debris and destruction in Emmerich. He had to go to the family of his youngest brother in Essen. There he met his wife and started a new family.

In Essen there was a lot of work for him to repair the pianos, as the actions of many pianos were damaged by the soldiers in war. The work for him was an exciting and risky adventure. He had to go across the border between the British and the Soviet occupation zone to pick up Flemming actions in Leipzig. At that time he had no identification, since he had escaped before he was sent to captivity in Siberia, so that he must hide himself in a goods train of coal to transport his order. It would be very dangerous for him to be arrested , even risk his life. Nevertheless, he did not stop the work and made enough money to reestablish Tetsch & May piano factory in Emmrich .

Later, the younger brother, Henry Walter Paul Tetsch, came back from British captivity and they strenuously actualized the plan of reconstruction in Emmerich. In 1955, the new company building was eventually completed as present appearance.

At that time there were 15 employees, mostly were the former employees, who returned home from the war. The production bounced back soon to prewar levels, and they started the significant business with many famous brands - Steinway & Sons, Grotrian Steinweg, Bechstein, Feurich, Bösen- dorfer, Ibach, Seiler, later also Yamaha and Kawai, and so on.
